Crazy day

Today was a crazy day. It was filled with me running back and forth between my classroom and the office. I was trying to coordinate a field trip to the fire department, but things kept coming up. Finally, I was able to confirm just in time to get the permission slips ready with a little info note for the parents before school ended. We have had so many technical difficulties lately with the electricity and internet. It has pushed back a lot of my usual work that I do (mainly notes to parents, etc.) and I have been rushing around trying to get things done while we still have electricity.
As well, I have been working on finding new beginning French curriculum to be ordered for next year. It is not likely that money will be spend on such items, but I thought that I should do the research anyways in hopes that a miracle occurs. The current curriculum is very old (20 years in fact). The French language hasn't changed much over the years, but the teaching/learning style has. I can tell by looking at the books that it will be VERY difficult to teach through it next year. It is a hard book to understand (lots of pictures and things that are supposed to help the students learn vocabulary, but it just makes it confusing!).
Please be praying for the curriculum choices as we, the teachers, have been making suggestions for change.

Other than that, I have some cute picture of Kathryn Stom's. She is a little over 1 yr now, and getting more and more confident in her walking skills!!! Yesterday, she was taking up to 6 steps on her own. We are so proud of her! Here she is walking to her mama, Laura.

Also, yesterday we had a visit from Amber and Janelle. They live on campus and love to come visit us, especially when I have just made banana bread:) The other day, they came at a time when littlest was REALLY kicking, so they got to feel him kick. It was fun. This time, they had someone with them: a little hedge hog! I had never seen one so up close before. It really looks like a porcupine! Anyways, here is a picture of Amber and Janelle with their little friend.

Awe! Cute little Kathryn Stoms!!
Amos is taking steps like that, too, six or seven at a time and likes to stand up on his own. Last night he stood up and bent over to get a ball, not holding on to anything! We are working hard though, as I want him to walk so badly!! Love you!

that does not look like a porcupine to me, and that's all I have to say about that because I'm not cool enough to find a picture of a porcupine to post with this comment :)
