Happy Valentinte's Day!

So far, I have spent Valentine's Day in bed watching 'Pride and Prejudice'. Yesterday was a rough day, and by dinner time, I felt very ill. I was sick all night and so stayed home from school today. I'm not sure what it was, but I feel better today. I am just so exhausted from being up all night. So, I did what any sick girl would do on Valentine's Day, which is watch a romantic movie in bed!

Despite being sick, it has been a nice day so far. I was surprised by Dan when he came home around 10:00am on his break. He brought with him 50 red roses!!! It was such a wonderful surprise.

The upper school kids were selling them all week to raise money for a class trip. Apparently, 50 roses are only 2,000 Kwacha which is about $14 (the price of a small box of banana muffin mix here in the stores!). It's funny how roses in the states cost a fortune, especially around Valentine's Day, but here they are so cheap! On the other hand, I am thankful for my banana muffin making skills! Food is so ridiculously expensive here (with a few exceptions).

Anyways, it was so thoughtful for my wonderful husband to surprise me with such a treat, especially while I am feeling down. Tomorrow, we are supposed to be headed off to the lake with some friends of ours. We need a little bit of time away from the work and this campus. The walls are beginning to suffocate us, so it will be nice to get some fresh air. Please pray that I get better soon, as we have been excited about our little trip away for the weekend.

Also, pray for Dan. He will be preaching again at the ABC Sunday evening chapel service. He won't say it, but he did a great job preaching the word of God last week. Many of the students were blessed by his message. He loved doing it and looks forward to this Sunday night. Please pray that the Lord would speak to him and that He would use Dan to build up the students (as well as the staff).
