It is with a sad heart that I say goodbye to my hometown, Franklin Tennessee. We leave for Seattle tomorrow afternoon, and while we are VERY excited to be there, it will be sad to leave my home.
We have felt so cared for and welcomed by family, old friends and new friends. Over the past four months, I have reconnected with old friends, traveled to see family and friends, spent time with my entire family, and made new friends at our surrogate church Parish Presbyterian . God provided true community for us during our stay here. We still can't believe that the long awaited birth has finally happened, and now Elijah is here with us. The Lord was so faithful to us through it all! I remember anxiously buying our plane tickets back in January...not sure if things would all work out. It was hard to trust the Lord, but we knew it was his plan for us to have the blessing of welcoming Elijah at home with my mom as the midwife. His hand has carried me through the pregnancy, kept us safe in our travels and blessed the birth. The entire experience was an enormous gift from God. We couldn't be more thankful!
And so, we say goodbye to Tennessee by sharing with you the
Top 10 Things the Robbins will miss about Tennessee:
10. The front porch: Dan got a lot of work done out there. Elijah had many a naps and I found much peace and quiet while swinging on the porch swing.
9. Hanging out with my family: Dan REALLY got a good idea of what it is like to have sisters!!!
8. Living with our doctor: I'm sure it annoyed my mom...but we really enjoyed being able to ask our 'doctor' anything at any time. We felt very safe!
7. Southern Fried Chicken salads (with extra honey mustard) from the Franklin Chop House.
6. The exciting possibility of running into someone famous ...most of all, Keith and Nicole!
5. Cheese dip at SATCO (San Antonio Taco Company)
4. Worshiping at Parish Pres. and being part of the women's Bible study.
3. Driving around on the Natchez Trace Parkway
2. Dan riding his bike in the country
AND NUMBER 1:
Getting advice, strange looks, and the most hilarious comments from complete and total strangers about my belly, possibly having twins, and being pregnant and not fat in the face at all!
Thank you to everyone who loved on us, fed us, helped us, entertained us, encouraged us, prayed for us and just plain cared for us during our stay here in Franklin. Goodbye Tennessee!
