Seattle!

Good morning from the Robbins!!!

Our flight last Tuesday was wonderful. Elijah slept almost the entire time and didn't even fuss! He was comfy in Dan's arms.

It was hard saying goodbye to my parents...especially at the airport. I really hate airport goodbyes! Apparently, Elijah does too.

We have been in Seattle for one week now, and it feels like we never left. Our dear friends Blythe and David have loaned us our old car (we sold it to them when we left last summer). While we drive around the city in our old car, we can't help but feel like we still live here. We have really enjoyed the cooler weather and being back with our friends. We went for a little walk in the downtown area before dinner with friends at Buca di Beppo. We watching the sea planes take off and land on Lake Union. It was beautiful.

Our friends have seemed to really enjoy getting to know Eli. The other night, Elijah got passed around the table at Buca di Beppo and everyone got to hold him. I loved watching all the guys hold him like a football.

We got to visit with our best friends the Riberas. Elijah finally got to meet his best friend Ezra! Ezra was born last Sunday and is doing really well! We were so happy to finally see him after waiting all this time. It was great but also strange to be with the Riberas...mostly because of how things have changed. We used to spend nights drinking wine and playing games and being loud...but now, we sit quietly with our little babies, feeding and burping them. It's wonderful though.

Elijah is all bundled up and ready to go out in the cool air.

We spent an afternoon walking around our old neighborhood in the University District. We stopped by our favorite vintage clothing store called Red Light. Like the glasses?
Elijah has been smiling a lot more, but for some reason, it's been difficult to capture them! Here are a few shots.

Dan is enjoying dinner while keeping Eli calm under his napkin in the baby bjorn.

Our open house last Saturday was really fun. We got to visit with our friends and supporters who we haven't seen in so long! It was very encouraging to be with them and talk about our experiences in Malawi, but also to hear about what we have missed out on in their lives.

Elijah was baptized last Sunday at Covenant Presbyterian Church. I will post pictures...I'm sure Dan will have a lot to say about it, but I will say now that it was truly a special thing to watch our son become a part of the Covenant Community. He is now a Covenant child, Praise the Lord!
