Keeping busy...very busy

Greetings from Goodnight! Actually, he has just said "goodnight" and is now cuddling with daddy (who has a cold) while I blog. I know I should be sleeping, but it's so nice to just have a few moments of awake time to myself.

Well, as usual, we have had a wonderful but busy past couple of days spending time with the people we love here in Seattle. On Friday evening, Dan and I decided to meet some friends at the beach for a last minute cook out, despite the cold winds and cloudy sky. Thankfully it did not rain on us, and actually turned out to be a beautiful evening. Here are some pictures that I got, but believe me, they don't do justice....it was truly magnificent.

The whole family, cuddling up in our hoodies.

Dan and his good friend Chad (an old room mate in college).

Jack enjoying his time with Elijah.

Chad, Jack, Dan and Lauren (Chad's wife)

Elijah keeping warm and out of the wind.

Jack and Chad played Speedminton (a version of Badminton I believe). Lauren and I got a kick out of watching them dive for the birdie.

We had dinner with our friend Dave on Thursday night. He made an amazing dinner, and we all just enjoyed sitting around and catching up.

Elijah loves hanging out with his daddy.

My dear friend Kathryn threw me a diaper shower on Saturday. It was so fun, celebrating Elijah's bottom while I opened up my diapering gifts. Since diapers are SO expensive in Malawi and we are not able to bring enough from the States, we have decided to do mostly cloth diapers. Kathryn has been so good in helping me figure out which ones would be best for Elijah. It was fun researching, but I am glad that it is finally all figured out, as I was beginning to have dreams about diapers!!! Too stressful! By the way, I ended up registering for Fuzzi Bunz and Bum Wear.

Kathryn has an amazing happy 6 month old named Liam. He is always so happy, much like Kathryn.

Jessica with Ezra, Ashley with Mason and Kellie with Kaitlyn. There were a lot of babies at this baby shower!

Barbara just can't get enough of Eli...Barbara is a good friend who was really a huge part of my growing experience when I first came to Seattle and began attending Green Lake Presbyterian. She has guided me and taught me so much about God's love. She will be coming to Malawi later in August with the team from Green Lake. I am so excited!

On Sunday, Dan and I went to visit the family I used to nanny for. I watched the girls for two years while in school. Her is a picture of us the day we said goodbye last year before leaving for Malawi.

Her we are all together yesterday. It was soooo wonderful to see them!

Ananda loved holding Elijah. I really miss this family. They were so good to us; supportive and encouraging of both school and going to Malawi. I really feel like family with them.

Sofia was 3 and Gianna was just 6 months when I started working for them.

Now, Gianna is 3 and Sofia is 6 years old!!!

Here they are showing off their cart wheeling skills for us.

And now for the smiling Elijah picture show:

Happiest with his thumb!
