the garden

Today, I slept in for the first time in a very long time! Elijah slept in until 7am and then Dan took him for the morning. It was a wonderful gift.
Lately, I have been tempted to whine about the heat, but realized today that it really is a beautiful Malawi summer day, and we should enjoy it! After all, if we had just come out of a wet Seattle winter, we would be very thankful for a day like today. So, instead of sitting inside wishing for an air conditioner, we packed up and headed over to the ABC garden which is right next to the Academy. It is really beautiful.

Eli has gotten into the habit of holding onto his stroller straps while riding...maybe he likes to think of them as suspenders...can you even get baby suspenders anywhere?

We had a great time eating lunch on a blanket beneath a tree. Elijah kept us entertained with his giggles and babbling. Lately, he has been giggling a lot, especially if you play the 'super man'/'flying' game with him. He loves it. You can see him anticipating the part when he will quickly be lifted into the air.

He also enjoyed playing with his 'very hungry caterpillar' toy. He has really come to love that little guy...I think because he is red.

We are trying to get better at the family picture thing.
