Then, we packed up the cars and headed out for Matapila. Almost the whole group went, most of them to stay but some of them just went for the ride. I think it was good for people to see where the Ministry of Hope team would be staying for the whole week...they got a picture of what their week would be like. The roads were great compared to how they were last December during the rainy season! Elijah did great and slept the entire way. The moment we pulled up, he woke up and was ready to eat. SO, I sat in the car and fed Eli while children watched and played with his feet. They were so enthralled with Elijah and kept calling for the 'white baby' in Chechewa. I'm not sure how many white babies they have seen.
Rebecca Morton with Elijah...orange was the color of the day I guess.
It was wonderful to see Gift and his family again. He is the director of the Katonda feeding center which is only a few miles from the Matapila feeding center. His brother Fletcher is the ABC graduate who started Ministry of Hope. His children have grown since December! (sorry no pictures of them this time....I was busy keeping Elijah safe as all the kids were begging to hold him!).
It was also fun to see Joseph again. He is the new director of the Matapila center. He was sad that Dan wasn't with me, and thought for a while that he might have been sick. I had to keep explaining to him that he was just really busy with school work.

Today was strange because I experienced so many different types of African scenarios. The shopping, the village and driving dirt roads and then a wonderful relaxing dinner. It truly felt like 3 separate days all packed into one.
Here are some random photos. I love that our friends have just been hanging out in our little house here in Africa.
Taking Elijah for an evening walk....we LOVE our stroller Sarah!
