Growing older

Yes, I feel like I am growing older, but I was really talking about Elijah. The other day, he sat up all by himself for more than 10 minutes without falling over! He keeps his arms stretched out to keep his balance I think.

Eli is eating well. He is so interested in real food. I think it's because he feels like a big boy sitting at the table and doing what mommy and daddy do. Lately, he sucks on his fingers between each bite. It's pretty funny.

It was Esther's baby shower last weekend. Esther Marion Spencer is the 8th Spencer child and the 37th (or something) Chinchen grandchild. She is beautiful!

Elijah got all dressed up for Esther's babyshower. He was trying to impress her with his good looks.

Marion opens Esther's gifts while Bess (her niece) and Charlotte (her 6th) watch closely. Charlotte was in my class last year, and this year, I have her older sister Nell in French. Dan teaches the 3rd Spencer boy, Caleb in math as well as Nell. We just love this family.

The past few days have been very hot here. Even our Malawian friends think it's hot!!! I've lived in hot places before, but never without air conditioning. It will get as hot as 90 degrees in our house and in the shade! Needless to say, we look forward to the rains which are hopefully coming soon. For now, we just let Eli play in his diaper.
