ABC Junior/Senior Banquet

We had such a great time last Wednesday night. The juniors at ABC cooked a meal and presented the seniors with gifts at a banquet. We all got dressed up, but still couldn't possibly be dressed as nicely as the seniors! Malawians are serious about special occasions! Christina had her dress made just for the banquet.
Eli sat with Oscar who is a freshman this year. We go to church together and love running into him on campus.

There were two great speeches given by a junior and a senior. It was such a wonderful time for the students and staff to celebrate how far the seniors have come. The work so hard, often times sacrificing time with their families. In fact, some of the male students are married, but live on campus. They study throughout the week and go home to see their families on the weekends. As well, it is a huge financial struggle for the students. Many of them are unable to make it all the way through because of school debt. Actually, the holiday breaks are really long in hopes that students will use the time to find funds. These students have come a long way and have endured so much. Please pray for them as they approach their final exams. As well, pray for them as they go out from ABC and use their skills for God. They are "equipped soldiers" as Thomas said in his speech to the seniors. They have the knowledge and the power to change Malawi. Best of all, they love the Lord and want to do all things for His glory. That is truly powerful. Pray that this years ABC graduates would be used in mighty ways.

This gives a good sense of what the overall mission of ABC is.
Thanks.
