Here are some of my lovely children raising their hands to answer a question. Aren't they sweet?
Here are my kids, learning their new Bible memory verse for the week.Owen is my TA, and is so amazing with the kids. The boys practice alone, and then the girls practice, then all together. Of course, it's not until Friday that they really get it.
My class is getting more and more comfortable with being in a classroom. They are listening better, playing well with each other, etc. However, the walking in a line thing is absolute chaos. In talking about it with my friend who teaches the other Reception class, we realized that we think the other person has the worst class when it comes to walking in a straight line. The outcome of the conversation was a walk-off. That's right, a walk-off. We have the entire week to practice and then on Friday before chapel, each class is going to walk the entire length of the hallway, without stopping. There will be judges and everything! My kids are sooo excited, mostly because if they win, I have to wear a red clown nose and a purple feather boa allllll day next Monday. It's funny how motivated kids get when the dignity of their teacher is at stake!
Tonight is "Back to School Night' with the parents. It is a time for the teachers to introduce themselves a little more and explain how the classroom works. I am excited, but also a little nervous. Being professional is something I can do, but it takes a lot for me to hide how scared I really am.
Things are pretty good here. We are healthy and getting more sleep, so praise God. Still trying to buy a car. That has been weighing on us, so please pray that God will provide. We just got a phone yesterday, so that is one step closer!
