Funny Days in Reception!

This week has been busy, and it's only Thursday! We had open house yesterday and today in Reception. It is the time for perspective students and their parents to come and see what Reception is all about. They watch the kids doing their work (which they didn't do much of because they were distracted by the visiting adults), they look through the books that we use and browse around the room while also asking me questions. It was pretty painless. I thought it would be much more stressful, but all the parents were really nice and fun to talk to.

We celebrated a birthday this week. One of my older girls turned 6! Check out this Barbie birthday cake!!!

Here is a cute picture of my kids tracing P's in some pudding. They love it when we learn our letters in pudding!!!

Today marked the 100th day of school this year! To celebrate, we counted to 100 and made cute little head bands (like this one below).
Here we are, all together with our 100th day head bands on! (oh and they are holding their library books, because we were on our way to library when I decided to have the picture taken)

While learning about the letter Pp, we talked a lot about pets this week. The kids were encouraged to bring in pictures of their pets, or bring their pet to school! Here is Bess with her chameleon. Her dad brought it to class and told us ALL about chameleons. They named it Lucky, because they actually ran over it on accident, but then brought it home and it didn't die! Kyeni is being so brave letting it sit on his shoulder!!! I didn't want to touch it.

Tomorrow, we are having a pink and purple picnic, so be looking forward to those pictures!
