We are busy getting things ready for the birth. We are working on completing the home birthing kit, which includes towels, sheets, gauze, table cloths, a hose and blow up pool, pillows, a crock pot, plastic bags, a measuring tape, plenty of herbs and many other things. I still have a few things to pick up, but for the most part, we are ready for Elijah to come.

Getting ready!
p.s. this post is a little old....should have been posted on the 8th...a newer mother's day post will come soon:) happy mother's day to all you mothers AND mothers-to-be!!!
Here we are (mostly the Dan part of 'we') putting together the little bassinet from my parents attic. My mom slept in it when she was a baby, and she used it with us when my brothers and sisters and I were babies. It's been in the family for a long time, and now it's Elijah's turn. Also, please notice Dan's hair!!! This was before I gave him a hair cut:)
Here it is all put together. Dan put together a little outfit to show that it is Elijah's bed...kind of weird, but cute.

Here I am, going through all the supplies we already have for the birth.
Here I am at 31 weeks...just thought it would be fun to compare these two belly photos. Over all, I have gained 25 lbs (so far). Elijah has grown so much! He has been kicking and dancing non stop...I think he is practicing for a little performance he has planned for us when he arrives.
Here I am at 37 weeks and 3 days. People around town still LOVE to tell me how big I am, but that I am not fat in the face at all, apparently. I was at a shoe store with my mom the other day, and this lady had to call her friends over to me to show them how pregnant I am, saying things like "When I saw you from behind, you looked normal, and then you turned around and you're pregnant! You're huge!" and telling her friends "Can you believe this girl is about to have a baby?!? Oh my goodness, she is so big!" It is seriously so funny to get these comments from strangers. Being in the South has been so entertaining. I also had a 16 year old boy tell me at Target that I should only have one child, because he has 4 brothers and can't stand it! It was so hilarious!
My sister Abby and I got pedicures today. It was my mother's day present to myself. Actually, it was really great to have the little foot massage. My feet and back are usually always in pain these days. Most of all, it was great just to hang out with my lil' sissy, whom I love and adore. I went with her to Chattanooga last weekend while Dan was in Seattle. She needed help packing up her stuff and moving back home for the summer from college. She also really needed help getting rid of stuff. We spent 5 hours going through her room and making big piles of give away stuff for Good Will. After that, we spent the next day helping my mom go through her closet. It was a weekend of cleansing, organization and spring cleaning. My mom thinks I am nesting, and I probably am. It's just funny, because I am nesting in her house...I just want to organize every room in the house!!! Pretty soon, Elijah will be here, and I will be completely preoccupied with being a new mom.

Beth! You are HUGE! But don't worry, you're not fat in the face at all! Hah, that is so humorous. I bet you never expected to be told that to your face :). I am so incredibly excited for Elijah to come! I check the blog every day, so don't forget to get on here and post a blog when you're in labor, alright? :) We will be praying for you as it gets closer and closer to the blessed time! Love you lots! -Sarah Seitz
