just a few pictures

I just wanted to share these pictures with everyone. We are all doing well today, after having slept a little more last night. Sarah, Nathan and Amos left to go back to Indy today. We were SO grateful to have them here for the birth!!! They were a huge help, but also, it was just so great to have them be a part of the experience. We miss them already!



Uncle Jesse came to visit his new little nephew yesterday. He was very impressed by Eli's full head of hair!!

The men went out on the porch to celebrate by enjoying their pipes and a glass of Scotch while the ladies gave Eli his first bath.
Elijah's first bath! Grandmarmie/the midwife did a little check up and everything looks great. He weighs 6 lbs 8 oz. today, but that is normal for newborns to loose weight at first. He is 20 in. long.
Getting toweled off after his bath. He is already so alert, and loves to stare into people's eyes. He has such a serious face, taking after his daddy's personality. We expect him to be discussing methodology and epistemology in no time.
Here he is resting while we find something small to put on his little body. We think he has my googly eyes, and might end up looking a lot like his cousin, Amos. Then again, he gives us different looks and we can't quite figure out who he looks like.
All bundled up after his first bath. I actually captured a smile. It isn't the first he has given us. We like to think that he is just so glad to be out with mommy and daddy.
Daddy and Eli are snuggled in bed together. We all got a little more sleep last night, which was good.
