Still no baby.....

The last couple of days have been very suspenseful. We had a great dance party two nights ago, hoping to get labor started. That is, after we had spicy Thai food for dinner. Contractions continued as they were, every 10 minutes, and didn't get any harder or closer together.
Yesterday, we walked around a ton and contractions started getting closer together and harder. By 6pm last night, they were under 10 min. apart and very crampy. I was up all last night with even harder contractions every 4 minutes. I thought it was it...Dan and I got up around 4:30am to start timing them, and they stayed at 4 minutes for an hour. Then, I laid down and things immediately stopped. I got some sleep this morning, napping on and off, but still feel pretty exhausted.

My mom has been retelling me the story of my brother Jesse's birth. Apparently, he was very similar to Elijah. My mom had light contractions for about 2 weeks, then had harder ones for a few days, then finally went into labor a few days before he was due. We are thinking, maybe Elijah is a lot like me and wants to be more on time. After all, today is his due date!

Please keep praying. I especially ask for prayer that I would be patient and enjoy these last moments of holding little Elijah in my womb. I had an amazing dream lastnight that Elijah was born, and then I was holding him and loving on him the day after. It felt sooooo incredibly real. I woke up so excited to go to his crib and look at him, but when I tried to get up, I couldn't move because of a charlie horse in my leg, and I realized that I was still pregnant. I immediately started to tear up and had an emotional day all day. I just was disappointed, especially after such a real dream. I love this little guy so much already, and can't wait to see his face. I just really need patience and peace and rest while we continue to wait. Thank you for your continued prayers and encouragement.

**Pictures will come soon of the dance party!

This is SO suspenseful! I hope he comes tomorrow before we go out of town and don't have e-mail access...

Hang in there... just remember, all of these contractions ARE doing something, and your real labor will probably be pretty quick because of them. The longer you go through this, the faster and easier the real thing will be.

Blessings!
