I have officially been having contractions for four days now. They are not too strong, but are coming about every 10-15 minutes. They come less when I am resting, but the moment I get up, I get a contraction. I've been taking herbs, walking a lot, doing pelvic rocks and just about any other thing I can think of to get labor started. It's been hard thinking that any moment could be it, especially when I start to have the harder contractions. I am not dilated though. My mom checked me this morning. I am still a few days away from my due dateSo, Dan and I are planning to go to the Frist Art Museum in Nashville to see the Monet-Dali exhibit and of course, to walk around. Please keep praying that Elijah will come!!! Of course, he will come in God's timing, but it's getting uncomfortable, so we are praying that it is soon.
In other news, the office is finished. I am pretty proud of how it turned out, seeing as how you can actually walk through the room without tripping on something! It's a HUGE change. Here are some pictures.
Mom's new peg board above her desk acts as another desk, just attached to the wall. She has her current files right there in front of her, along with business and personal bills that need to be addressed and dealt with. All of the important current work is right in front of her and easily accessible. No more wasting time looking for something buried under a pile of papers! Mom had a useless bulletin board filled with pictures. The pictures are special, of course, but we needed the wall space for organizational purposes. We decided to put most of them in an album and a photo box. Then, we filled the extra space on her pegboard with her most special pictures of babies she has delivered and loved clients (many of whom have had my mom deliver more than one of their babies, sometimes the whole family!).
Mom's new book case holds all her brick-a-brack including business cards, files for potential clients, birthing class information packets, stationary, envelopes, etc. Each box is clearly labeled for easy use. Of course, it's also great for holding all of her books that she uses for classes and reference uses.
Before: You can't even see the couch!!!
Now: The couch is clear!!! You can actually sit on it!!! It's a beautiful thing.
