Lake Malawi last weekend

We went with the team to Lake Malawi last weekend. We stayed in a nice hotel right on the water. It is the place to go, but we haven't been there since our trip in 2005. It's too expensive for us, but sometimes we would just take day trips and hang out in the camping section on the beach. Anyways, it was wonderful to get away and enjoy the loud waves, sunrises over the water and our HUGE hotel room!

Eli sports his new bathing suit for the first time. It took us a while to get it on and get ready to go outside. Once we finally got to the beach, the clouds were covering the sun and it got cold! So, we didn't end up enjoying the waves after all, but we will eventually.

Eli's bathing suit.

The waves we missed out on:

Dan and Eli enjoy the warm wind from our front porch outside our hotel room on the beach.

This is the band that played during dinner one night. They rotated between 5 songs that they played. It was funny though, because by the end of the evening, we knew each song really well.

We visited the church of an ABC graduate on our way back from the lake. It is a CCAP church (Churh of Central Africa Presbyterian), the closest thing you can get to the PCA .It was really great to visit, as we were the first visitors since the graduate's ordination service a year ago. The church welcomed us. They even sang a song about the two churches being joined by the Holy Spirit, and that we should both pray that the other would be saved, Seattle and Malawi. Eli did well as he say and listened to all the amazing singing done by the different choirs.

And now for some scenic photos of the ride to and from the lake:
