Please mom, don't freak out....

There was a parade in town today. Not the kind where you sit in your lawn chair on the side walk and catch candy in the air which is being thrown at you by the people riding the floats. Not the kind where you might see a Santa Clause or a Charlie Brown balloon. It was a military parade.

Blythe, Eli and I were at the chitenje market...

...and on our way back, we got stuck in some bad traffic...

...Blythe then noticed there were a ton of people lining the streets and just standing around...we thought it was very strange...

...until we saw the very long line of military men marching up the street...

They were chanting loudly, each carrying their own VERY big gun. Some of them had actual bazookas! I had never seen one before!

The people were whistling and shouting. Blythe and I conlcuded that it was a happy parade...some sort of celebration of something...maybe just the fact that Malawi is a free nation. I really have no idea. Anyways, it was kind of crazy.

The team from Seattle is leaving tomorrow around noonish. Please be praying for them as they travel back home. Many of them are excited to get back to their normal lives, but they will also be sad to leave Malawi. From what I have heard, they all had a wonderful time here. I have certainly been blessed by their presence. Thank you for all of your prayers for this team. The Lord did so much work through them. I am so thankful they were able to come out. Keep praying for them, that they would be able to adjust back into life there in the States and that the Lord would continue to work in their hearts as they reflect on their time here in Malawi.

I just stumbled across your blog! It's always so cool to see people in the ministry! I'm a Bible college student in Tampa, Florida, getting training for my own someday-ministry! God bless! Stop by my blog and say hello!
