Bumbo Baby Seatless

When you don't have a bumbo baby seat, what do you do??? I really hadn't thought about Eli needing a high chair/seat type thing for feeding or practicing his sitting, so I was glad when I was able to last minute order this seat and have it brought with the team from Seattle. Eli has been attempting to sit up more and more so I thought we would try the seat today. He really liked it and only tipped over a few times. It's not as cool as a bumbo baby seat, but it'll do. I have a feeling Elijah won't notice.

Other Random bits:

I forgot to show you what I got on Mother's day at the Dedza pottery lodge. I got a yellow pitcher, a matching yellow mug and little elegant flower vase with the letter 'B' on it. There were a bunch of those vases on the tables at the restaurant. I really wanted to get a bunch of them, all with different letters, but when we went to the 'warehouse', they didn't have any. So, I offered to buy the one off the table, and they let me!

Just to give you an idea of what we are spending our money on, pictured below are a few things I picked up from one of the grocery stores here in Lilongwe. These 6 items cost us about $16!!!! Every time I go shopping, I dream about all the yummy things I could get from Trader Joe's with $16. Here, you really can't get much. (the really expensive things are juice, flour and granola!) The pottery above was cheaper than these groceries!*note: dan and i have gotten really into cold chocolate bars. it's the greatest treat on a 95 degree day! plus, it'spretty much one of the only treats you can get! some people here are all about the coca cola....i choose chocolate.

Our neighbor Andy (also known as 'that guy' because whenever he comes over, Eli immediately has the biggest smile on his face which reads "hey mom, it's that guy!!!") and Eli play together in the bubba bouncer.

If our life were a tv show, Andy would be the Kramer character...always coming over to tell us another funny thing and looking through the fridge.....Just kidding, Andy only looked through the fridge once :) We like him though, so it's ok. He is our favorite neighbor.

And now for some pictures of Eli in the last days of his fourth month of life. By next week, he will officially be 5 months old!

Playing with a piece of paper

Doing baby yoga and trying to roll over on his belly

He's really getting close!

Thank you for all of your prayers for our little boy. He continues to be healthy and happy with a little fussiness due to teething, but is sleeping sooo well these days, so I am grateful. The Lord has blessed us so much with Eli.

I can't believe I haven't told you this yet- Ezzie is teething too! He had a little nub poke through earlier this week :) Maybe, in the same way that I had sympathy labor pains for you, Ezra decided to go through teething with Eli :) Awh, such good friends
