Grateful

Our computer was broken last week. We were very worried that it was a goner. A technician from our internet supplier was able to fix it, though! We are so grateful. It was hard not being in touch with any of you for a week. It's strange how much security the internet gives us. We are so incredibly far away, and yet we feel close as long as we have access to our precious internet. In some ways, it was good to go without for a few days. I feel like Dan and I talked more, haha. It's amazing how we spend so much time doing things that aren't edifying at all. I personally want to spend less time on the computer and more time reading or working on my scrap booking project. (this is not a new year's resolution as i know i will fail at times, and i don't need to worry about feeling guilty for not keeping my resolution. personally, i think there are much more imortant things to worry about!) Don't worry though, my faithful readers. I will continue to post as regularly as electricity allows.

And now for the Eli update:

Is it bad for Elijah to play with his diaper pail? Well, it's a closed trash can...I like to think I keep it pretty clean...actually, he's played with much worse, like a 2 inch sized cockroach just the other night in his room, ew! Anyways, he loves the trash can because he can see himself in it. Mirrors provide endless hours of entertainment.

Besides looking at himself in the mirror, Eli also likes looking at pictures of himself and other people. I started putting pictures on the bottom of the refrigerator for Eli to glance at. I've caught Eli sitting in front of the fridge talking and giggling to the pictures. I only have a few up there right now, but will put more up soon. I love the idea of Eli recognizing people when coming back to America.

Here he is waving at a picture of him and his best friend Ezra, together last summer in Seattle.

Cereal boxes have also been a favorite lately. Eli takes interest in anything new or different.

Eli plays with his baby float while we get ready for the pool. Yeah, not to make you jealous, but it's still about 85 degrees during the day and coming down to a nice 75 degrees at night (sometimes cooler). Believe it or not, we are jealous of all of you who are still getting snow! (SARAH!)

Eli has graduated into a walker. (Don't worry...he still spends lots of time on the floor crawling) We are borrowing one from our neighbors. We have truly been blessed by so many people around us who have all the baby gear. It's been fun to see Elijah grow through each stage. He doesn't really walk in the walker. Instead, he uses both feet to propell him forward, often times running into the wall. He goes so fast!

So fun!

It's funny.... they've outlawed walkers here, so we don't have one. Which means, you actually have some baby gear that I don't! =)

OUTLAWED?!?! They sell them at Babies 'r' Us, and we definitely have one at the church... so that makes me a little nervous.
But, my real comment is: I do the fridge picture thing too! I just put one picture down there at a time, though, so that I can also say/sing that person's name a lot. And, I don't have any pictures of Eli printed! I should; however, Ezra always looks at the blog with me :)
