An outing

Here is one of the nicer paved streets.

Well, I went out today for the second time since we have been back...I have forgotten how hard it is to just go to the store and get some gas! Gas/Diesel is about $7 a gallon and is going up quickly. There are always shortages so you have to drive around town to find it. Once you have found a station that actually has diesel, you have to wait in a line because everyone is trying to fill up. I waited in line for a while, and then when it was finally my turn, I was told that they only had gasoline and we needed diesel, so I had to drive around the station to get into another line! ARG!!!

I won't go into the details for fear of freaking out my mother, but driving was especially dangerous today. I have forgotten how reckless people are here. I thanked God many times today for protecting me.

Here are some pictures of town. Shop Rite is the big South African grocery store here. Prices have gone way up! Spaghetti noodles are about $3.50, grapes are $7 (for a little more than a handful), cereal is $10, and if you really want the taco shells...you have to be willing to pay more than $14!!!

Santa Plaza (or Christmas Plaza as we call it) is the best store ever! You can get all sorts of stuff there and they have the best prices...cereal is only $7-$10!!!

I captured some of the traffic in my mirror.Don't worry, I wasn't actually driving at that moment.

Elijah has been putting himself to sleep lately. All he needs are his fingers and he is a happy little man.
We walked to pot luck tonight with our new jogger stroller. Eli loves it!

Please pray for us as we prepare for school to start on Monday. We have a lot to do and are still moving in and getting settled. Thank you for keeping us in your prayers and for caring and loving us.
