ABC continues to grow

I thought it was about time that I updated y'all on all of the building projects around here. The upper school building is looking good. The walls are up and the second story is almost finished. Of course, there still aren't any windows or doors yet. Really, none of the interior is finished...but they are getting closer! Please pray for this huge project as they plan for it to be ready for use by the beginning of school next year.

This is a picture of the upper school double story building, although it was only a single story at this phase.

Progress! Here is the big loud cement mixer. Yeah, imagine trying to teach while this thing is running right outside your windows!

Taken at sunset, you can see the whole building from across the field. Sorry it's so dark :)

The newest project is 'The Pavilion'. The Academy doesn't really have a place for the students to sit and have their lunches during break. They kind of just spill out into the hallways, sitting on benches throughout the play grounds and sitting in the classrooms. As the school begins to grow, the need for an eating area increases.

This is the beloved Tuck Shop. Last year, I called it the snack bar (you know...just like the ones at the YMCA pool) and my students never knew what I was talking about. This year, I have remembered to call it by it's proper name. Anyways, you can get anything from a complete curry lunch to a bag of crisps (chips) from the Tuck Shop. It does well, and we all enjoy our snacks. However, it's time for something a little more substantial.

The new pavilion will have a kitchen (or something like it...) to provide a little more for the growing school and it's students.
Dan and Elijah pose for you on the freshly poured cement(well...not so fresh that they left marks). As you can see, it's going to be very big.
This photo shows a little more of the pavilion project as well as my old classroom (on the far right next to the colorful fence and Reception playground). I miss my little Reception kids sooooo much. Thankfully, I get to visit them often with Elijah, which they LOVE.

I just love the scaffolding here. It looks like it couldn't hold up a caterpillar let alone a building, but it works well.

Please continue to pray for the Academy and ABC as a whole. So many people and families are being served through this ministry. We are just thankful to be a part of it!

"Tuck Shop...complete curry lunch" That was certainly kept a secret when we were there!
